Are you overflowing with joy right now? Did you know you can be and even should be?
Yes, even in the midst of a world pandemic, you can have a contagious joy that, for a lack of better words, freaks out those around you. 😊
Why can I say such a thing?
Look what Jesus tells us in John 15:10-11.
If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love and live on in it, just as I have obeyed My Father's commandments and live on in His love. I have told you these things, that My joy and delight may be in you, and that your joy and gladness may be of full measure and complete and overflowing.
Wow! Don’t you just want to be around someone who has a revelation of these verses and walks them out?
So what is Jesus telling us here in John 15:10? He’s saying, that if we keep His commandments by walking in love, His joy and delight are in us and remain in us. And then He tells us in verse 11, that the joy and gladness in us is of full measure, complete, and overflowing.
Now that’s a lot of joy down on the inside of us, and it’s Jesus joy. Not just some frail, ineffective joy, but a Jesus joy that will overflow out of us wherever we go. What a powerful “atmosphere changer!” Glory to God!
Now we can understand why joy can be found in ANY situation. Because unlike happiness, which depends on our circumstances, joy comes from within.
And no matter what happens in life, no matter what’s going on in the world, that joy will be evident because of our confident assurance of Gods work and love in our lives.
So we should be wise and not let anything rob us of our joy!
We should never focus on the problems in the world today, or the problems that we may be facing. We should, however, focus on the One Who has the answers to those problems – Jesus.
We should jump out of bed every day rejoicing, because we trust Him and we know He's made a way.
One day while driving down the road, the Spirit of the Lord said something pretty life changing for me. He said that if people had any idea what happened in the spirit realm when they rejoiced, they’d jump out of bed every day rejoicing.
But Robbi, how can I rejoice in the middle of a pandemic?
That’s actually an easy answer. Get your thinker off the pandemic and on the One who has victory over the pandemic.
Remember, Jesus has our answer - every answer. He loves us, and He will never let us down! Hallelujah!
So, continually walk in love. Then pray every day, rejoice every day, and always be thankful in all circumstances! You don’t have to be thankful for a problem, but you do need to be thankful even if there is one. The Bible even tells us it should be that way.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says ... Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
So, let’s reach deep inside and tap into that joy. Let’s start shouting and rejoicing now, because we really do have so much to be thankful for!
