The next time you're tempted to think the devil has a right to touch you, or make you sick, or bring a virus on you, or do any harm to you ... turn instead to what God says, and then rejoice that you are already delivered from all darkness!
Colossians 1:13 says … The Father has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.
Another version says it this way.
Colossians 1:13 TLB … For He has rescued us out of the darkness and gloom of Satan’s kingdom and brought us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who bought our freedom with his blood…
Notice He said He has ALREADY delivered us from darkness and the gloom of Satan’s kingdom. Not someday going to! It is done! Hallelujah!
You may be thinking, “Devil, darkness, gloom of Satan’s kingdom” ... Where did the devil come into all this? I thought this virus was man made from China.”
Well, let’s suppose for a moment, that this was a man made virus and it was purposely sent to America to destroy President Trumps possibility of being re-elected. Or maybe it was sent here just to mess us up because we are a Christian nation. Or, maybe it came here by one of the other many reasons you’ve read in the stories floating around out there.
Let me first ask this. Why does it matter where this virus came from, or who it came from? Why does it matter the reason it came?
“But Robbi, you need to take this more seriously!”
Really? More seriously than what God says? May that never be so!
No matter the “where’s” or the “who’s” or the “whys” of this COVID-19, wouldn’t you agree this thing is evil and under the curse? Of course it is. It’s sure not part of the Blessing.
So, if it’s evil and it's under the curse, wouldn’t that directly link it to the gloom of Satan’s kingdom?
Yes, it would.
Well, what did we just learn from God above?
He has ALREADY delivered us from all darkness and from all the gloom of Satan’s kingdom.
We are ALREADY delivered from anything the devil could even try to throw our way.
Now, let’s see what else God says about Satan, and all his attacks.
1 John 5:18 AMP … We know [absolutely] that anyone born of God does not [deliberately and knowingly] practice committing sin, but the One Who was begotten of God carefully watches over and protects him [Christ's divine presence within him preserves him against the evil], and the wicked one [Satan] does not lay hold (get a grip) on him or touch [him].
2 Thessalonians 3:3 TLB … But the Lord is faithful; he will make you strong and guard you from satanic attacks of every kind.
Now let me ask this. What words are you going to “take more seriously?” The things the WORLD is telling you, or the things that GOD is telling you?
I know what I’m doing and going to continue to do. I will take seriously, the Word of my faithful Father God. I will pay no attention to anything else.
Because God never told us to pay attention to, and keep our focus on the world’s stuff, the evil stuff, etc. He said to keep our focus on Him and we’d have perfect and constant peace.
Isaiah 26:3 … You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You].
God never told us to stress over our safety because the media (and even family and friends) are dumping a bucket of “virus possibilities and potentials” on us daily. He said to trust Him to keep us safe.
Psalms 62:8a … Trust in him at all times, you people. God is our place of safety.
2 Timothy 4:18 … The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom.
God never told us to be even slightly concerned about all the evil. He said to cast all our cares on Him.
1 Peter 5:7 … Cast all your anxiety and cares on Him because He cares for you.
God never told us to figure out all the evil (where it’s coming from, who’s doing it, who’s going to do more, and when).
He said …
The Spirit of Truth ..…He will guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth]. He will disclose to you what is to come in the future. (John 16:13)
It is better to trust the Lord than to put confidence in men. (Psalms 118:8)
Wait a minute! You mean God did not say that the WORLD should lead us and show us things to come?! You mean God did not say to put our confidence in men?
That's right. God is clear in His Word on Who should be leading us and Who to trust!
Now, you can go ahead and get upset with me right here, but if you’ll pay attention, you’ll thank me later.
If we cannot get our focus off this evil virus now, how will we keep our focus off bigger evil things if they come our way. God did not cause or allow this virus, but it would be wise of us to use this time as training ground concerning our focus and faith.
We MUST, MUST, MUST get to a place where we KEEP our thoughts, our focus, and our mouth lined up with what the WORD says … and not what the WORLD says!
But Robbi, how can I do that will all the voices in the world right now? With all the articles on the internet and on Facebook? With everything my friends and relatives are telling me?
You just figured out part of your answer. You grouped together the issues.
Now, just STAY AWAY FROM the voices in the world!
But what if they are true?
Are they more true than God and His Word?
But what if someone has evil plans for our nation?
Are their plans bigger than God’s plans?
But what if they try to inject us with a chip or a virus or worse?
Why don’t you start injecting yourself right now with so much of the Word of God, the presence of God and the power of God, that NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING would even dare come near you!
Wow, that even sounds like a scripture we know.
Psalms 91:7 … A thousand may fall dead at your side. Ten thousand may fall near your right hand. But no harm will come near you.
Wait! Did God really mean that!!
Listen church. This is so strong in my spirit! I see it as crucial!
We had better STOP NOW relying on what the world says! We better get our focus completely off that garbage! I don’t care what person or what minister is talking it.
I’m sure most those folks mean well, and some of them may be hearing from God and sharing info so we don’t get tripped up if someone comes along to offer us a “cup of pink Kool-aid.”
But the info they are sharing, if it really is coming from God, is sure not supposed to get us into fear, and is sure not supposed to be the info that guides us, leads us, and consumes us. I’m sure they would even tell you that.
Remember this. Real prophecy, according to scripture, is edifying, encouraging, and comforting. Period! (1 Corinthians 14:3)
Prophets – real prophets, can receive a warning from God for His people. But, it’s a warning. Not a “written in stone, no way out, not even God can help us,” message.
If God warns His people, He warns them to prevent tragedy.
Definitely listen to the true prophets and true prophecy, but then run to God. Not the internet!
Let God tell you what to do with what you hear from these folks. He may even tell you to stay away from some of the things being said. God knows the true prophets and the ones who aren’t.
Well, I’ve said enough. I think you get my point.
Be wise, especially in the days we live in. Make God your number one priority.
Spend time with Him. Learn and listen to His voice above all the others!
If you’ll do that, you’ll be led by His precious Holy Spirit into ALL TRUTH! And that’s what we need right now!
That’s a place of peace and safety.
But remember, if you spend all your time listening to the voices of the world, you won’t be able to hear the voice of God!
You choose! Who will you follow?
