Michigan is scheduled to hold the Democratic and Republican primary elections for the gubernatorial race on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026. Michigan voters can participate in either party's primary, but not both.
The candidate who receives the highest share of votes in his or her primary will become that party's nominee and advance to the general election.
